Godavari emana Krishna laga gorges madhyalo nundi flow ayitadi anukunava...its depth is barely few feet and flows along the plains and it makes ver tpugh to store water int he river..and rain water doesnt flow all through the year in fact, after december, there is hardly any water in godavari..

ie excess water ni krishna delta ki transfer cheyadam PS plan, anthe kani endakalam la nillu store cheyanika, vaana kalam la idasanike kadu..

May be you should read a bit about Godavari, how we waste over 2000 TMC water waste into bay of bengal and the reason for that..Then you will understand why  PS was built..
