tax filing stocks

You need to report only if you sell your stocks, not when they are vested. Also, keep in mind that if u sell your vested stocks right away after vesting date, it will be counted towards annual income (short term gains). Whereas if you hold on to your RSUs for at least 1 year after vesting date, you will save a lot on taxes.

I have RSUs that are vested in March 2017. Should these be reported in tax filing? I did not receive 1099B for this. I have appointment tomorrow in H&R but want to know before hand. Thanks in advance. some one reply bhayyas
