 just change in regulations..People with IELTS 7 and experience in IT  skills will get PR in 3yrs . Earlier, we used to get PR in 2yrs.. 

 

Key reforms:

• Character: Mandatory penal clearance certificates to be provided. (No impact)

• Occupation lists: The occupation lists that underpin the 457 visa will be significantly condensed from 651 to 435 occupations, with 216 occupations removed and access to 59 other occupations restricted. (No change to IT related skills)

• Validity period: The maximum duration of 457 visas issued from this date for occupations that are on the STSOL(short term) will be two years. Occupations on the MLTSSL(medium and long term) will continue to be issued for a maximum duration of four years ( STSOL guys have to go back to India after 4yrs for second extension as extension in AU allowed only once. We will be PR after 3yrs and this will not affect at all.)

•  

  English language requirements: English language salary exemption threshold, which exempts applicants whose salary is over $96,400 from the English language requirement, will be removed. ( Earlier, people with 100k salary are exempted from IELTS)
