Bahubali in Professional Life

This is not about why Kattappa killed Baahubali! Nor is it about the fact that the grandeur, splendour, actors, technology, ideas, costumes and almost everything was simply amazing and perfect. There was something more than this which made this movie to leave a mark on me. It has given some valuable lessons for life.

Some of perceptions of the movie without divulging the storyline.

  1. Facing challenges – Challenges are always aplenty but the movie portrays seeking ways and means to overcome challenges rather than succumbing to defeat. For instance making use of trees to get inside the fort to which they did not have access.
  2. Importance of team work – There are couple of scenes which reflect on the importance of teamwork, thereby proving that unity is strength. Together Baahubali & Devasena vanquish a group of attackers with ease. Similarly seeking help of cow herds to protect the kingdom, to name a few.
  3. Being an inspiration – Baahubali, by demonstrating inspirational actions, leading by example and rendering motivational words, helps a coward become valiant.
  4.  Strength in relationships – If your conviction is not strong enough in the relationships you trust, events can be manipulated to one’s advantage, thereby wrecking relationships. If Sivakami had strong faith in Baahubali’s character, the evil forces could not have attacked.
  5.  Leadership – Baahubali displayed signs of a true leader and thereby gained the support from the masses.
  6. Commitment – The importance of loyalty and commitment over emotions is displayed by Kattappa, who is the epitome of reliability.
  7. Innovation – Out of box thinking helps tide over crisis. This was evident with setting cow horns on fire, forming human shielded groups etc. which contributed for winning over in the battles.
  8. Importance of women’s safety – A particular dialogue rendered by Baahubali regarding women’s safety was welcomed amidst thunderous applause from audience.
  9. Courage – Do not hesitate to question / address anyone (including your teacher) if they are at wrong. Get your priorities right.
  10. Blinded by ego – If your ego quotient is high, it curbs your thinking, impairs your communication and does not enable you to see your own mistakes. This is apparent from Sivagami’s behaviour.
  11. Righteousness wins – Although this is well-known, truth always triumphs is emphasised upon despite time taken.
  12. Greed – Excess greed and resorting to unscrupulous ways will only ensure your downfall like it happened to Bhalla.
