10 years is a long time...

investments are subject to market risks...

so..no one can answer your question and even if they does, chances are good that they don't know anything apart from land and gold..

LTT ... Opinions are appreciated ...

I plan to retire in 10yrs from now ... I'm planning to save $25K every year from now on for the next 10Yrs i.e.,$250K + $150K-$180K(by selling the home)

My Idea is to have $600K when I retire in 10yrs ...

I've two homes in India, so I think $600K which is appx Rs3.5crores is sufficient enough for a decent living ...

When I go back to India I wish to settle down as a professor ...

If you settle down in usa 600 k is not enough. You need at least 4-5 million.

Dont count on your homes, unless you have steady income or immediately  you can liquidate.

Now stock market is due for a correction in my opinion. Invest in gold this year and next year. When market crashes have some to invest.

Good luck.

Thanks for your advise, I think it's a very good distribution involving low low-medium risks ...
