if Your extension is  filed prior to the expiration of your current status, you are legally able to remain in the U.S. and continue working for up to 240 days (but not beyond) after the expiration of your current status while your extension is pending.

USCIS is currently processing H*-1*B extensions in approximately 6-8 months, hoping that with the premium processing suspension, U-S-C-I-S will be able to remove the backlog in processing and decrease processing times.

 

Is this right?
