Dear DTA Family members,
 
DTA Executive Committee is planning for a few events in the upcoming months and requests your involvement, support and participation. An exclusive women's event, Service Activity involving DTA Youth and Sports Events are being planned.

DTA EC would also like to bring some facts about current DTA status to you all
 
DTA President's Non-cooperation:
  • Harsha Anche, current DTA President, brought DTA to a standstill since Feb 4th 2017 without convening even a single meeting to plan for Ugadi or any other events or to discuss DTA related activities. The current executive committee contacted and requested him numerous times to do so.
  • Harsha blocked access to Publication Secretary that is responsible for preparing the newsletters (communication sent to DTA) and on the other hand sent misleading information to the community on his own and never discussed about events planning, financial planning or any other activities.
  • Despite Harsha's non-cooperation and lack of interest, DTA EC will continue to work with the DTA community to conduct the events that are being planned.
Status of Legal Case filed against DTA by Mrs. Neelima Manne:

DTA Attorney Stand:

  • The DTA attorney filed a motion on Apr 5th 2017 requesting to withdraw from representing DTA, and replace him with another attorney and pay his legal fee dues (nearly $ 30,000 so far) for the following reasons 
         a) Harsha's non-cooperation to work with 2017 DTA EC and provide direction on the legal                case 
         B) Non-payment of his legal fees for his services since Oct 2016

Harsha's Stand

  • Harsha Anche, instead of working with the 2017 DTA EC to safeguard DTA, chose to file an injective relief on Apr 12th 2017 through Mrs. Neelima's attorney requesting court to give him full powers to run DTA solely and keep the elected Executive Committee aside. 
Court's Order:
  • On Apr 19th 2017, after the hearing on above 2 filings, court denied DTA attorney's request to withdraw and also denied Mrs. Neelima's request to grant Harsha the full powers of DTA. Instead, the court ordered to complete the mediation/arbitration process that was agreed upon in Nov 2016 by Mrs. Neelima Manne, Mr. Ramesh Peddeti and the 2016 DTA EC.
  • Due to Harsha's inactions, DTA attorney again filed a motion on May 3rd to withdraw and this hearing is set for May 10th.
Legal Case Next Steps:
  • As part of the arbitration ordered by the court, to understand the facts, following witnesses may be called for testimonies
    a ) Mr. Sunil Pantra who was reported to be in possession of several ballots during the election process.
    B) 270 members/families that Mrs. Neelima Manne claims to have viewed/tracked voting for her. She produced this list to all the attorneys as per Court order.
Quick Summary of Case:
  • Mrs. Neelima Manne hired a Forensic expert to review election material. The expert reviewedpartial material and produced a report. On Apr 5th 2017 based on Mrs. Neelima's request, court ordered to complete the review of remaining election material by the forensic expert by Apr 19th 2017 to complete the report. For reasons unknown, Mrs. Neelima chose not to complete the remaining process. The Court order also indicated that all election material copied / scanned by the expert should be provided to all attorneys. Again, for reasons unknown, this material was not shared with the attorneys so far.
DTA EC Stand:
  • DTA EC would like to request the community, not to be deterred by this legal case and strongly come back to actively volunteer, participate and revive DTA.
  • Lastly, DTA EC is not worried about the outcome of this legal case for the simple fact that the elected EC members have not done any fraud whatsoever to win the election.
