He was of the opinion that I might have to transfer my H1B to another employer. Or leave the US for good.

No man I don't think he would do that. I have a project scheduled to go atleast till one more year, maybe more. Plus yes he does owe me some money but he's not the type that would skimp out on paying that. 

I think my problem is genuine, and with USCIS.

Anyway worst comes to worst, do you think I can transfer to a college and use my CPT and continue working. Till I get another country's PR and get out of the US?
