Four of the top five rank-holders in both engineering and medicine have an AP connection. The first rank in engineering went to Gorantla Jayanth Harsha from Guntur followed by K. Ramprasad from Srikakulam and A. Sai Bharadwaj from Hyderabad, who the got second and third ranks respectively. In the agriculture test, K.V.N.V.S. Neastham Reddy, from Kakinada, bagged the first rank. The second rank went to Ongole native G.P. Sunder Reddy while G. Abhinav Reddy from Gajwel secured the third rank. Quite a few students from Telangana figured in the top-10 lists of engineering and agriculture tests of AP Eamcet held this year. V. Mohan Abhyas, A. Sai Bharadwaj, V.V.S. Sai Mounik, K. Venkat Nikhil and D. Varun Teja were in the top-10 slots in engineering of AP Eamcet. S.Nikhil Chowdary, Kalyan Basa and Patolla Akhila secured places in top-10 in the agriculture test. AP engineering first ranker Mohan Abhyas hails from AP, but he did his intermediate from a college in Kukatpally and thus credit went to Telangana. Gorantla Jayanth Harsha from Guntur, who bagged the first rank in engineering being fed sweets by his parents at their home on Monday Coming to TS Eamcet results, the percentage of qualified students in engineering test was 74.75, while in agriculture test it was a bit higher with 86.49 per cent. The Eamcet exam was held on May 12. Nearly 1.31 lakh students appeared for the engineering test and 73,496 students for the agriculture test. Eamcet-2017 convener Dr. N. Yadaiah said OMR sheets could be downloaded from eamcet.tsche.ac.in website for two days, May 24 and 25. Candidates can submit their representations regarding any discrepancy in evaluation of OMR answersheets on the same website from May 26 to 27. The download of rank cards will be available on the eamcet website from May 28. Replying to a query, Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) chairman Prof. T. Papi Reddy said engineering counselling was likely to be held sometime after June second week. JNTU vice-chancellor A. Venugopal Reddy said they are working on engineering college affiliations and the approved list will be released in June first week. Colleges that were found to have shortfalls were told to comply with norms and resubmit their proposals and “we are examining them”, he said. Of all the 1.9 lakh registered students for engineering stream, 1.8 lakh students have appeared and 1.4 lakh students have been qualified. A total 18,598 candidates from Telangana registered for AP Eamcet while 17,356 appeared for the exam, and 15,216 have been qualified. V Mohan Abhyas from Hyderabad secured first rank in Eamcet engineering category by scoring 153.9 marks in Eamcet and 96.99 combined score. SSV Bharadwaj from Kothagudem district secured second rank by scoring 96.50 combined score. Similarly three students from Telangana found place in the top 10 list of agriculture and medical stream.
