Life imprisonment to Chengala Venkat Rao (Ex-MLA, Cine Producer)

Amaravati: Former MLA of Payakaraopet, Chengala Venkat Rao was given a life time imprisonment sentence today.

 

Anakapalli sessions court gave this verdict and it is with regard to murder of a fisherman.

 

During his term as MLA in 2007 Chengala went to Bangarampalem village of Nakkapalli mandalam. The villagers protested against sand mafia and also opposed coming up of a chemical factory in their village. The agitation took serious turn and led to death of one fisherman. Police booked cases against many including the then MLA Chengala for inciting violence against villagers!

 

Chengala initially was with TDP before boarding Jagan's party. He was a noted producer too and has Samarasimha Reddy with Balayya and Narasimha with Jr NTR!
