If the passport is expired for less than 6 months a letter is required from the applicant explaining “why the passport was not renewed in required time frame."

not a big deal, maa friend gaadu (not friedns, friends friend, naa rommmate) expire ayina 11 months tarvaha chuskunadu . 

ok coverig letter pettadu, he got his ew passport back in 2 weeks. 

expire ayy more then 12 months ayithe you have to go in person to renew . 

This is in UK, i think there will be same rules every where

it happened to me.. don't worry.. apply before it crosses 6 months.. leka pothey additional documentation kavali.. reasonable ledu emi ledu.. lack of warning system coupled with being occupied with my life ani rasanu.. nothing will happen.. be truthfull.. jeevitham lo abaddalu enduku..
