On 11 June 2016, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) reported it had "provisionally attached" ₹1,411 crore (US$220 million) rupees worth of Mallya's Indian assets and properties against unpaid loans totalling ₹807 crore (US$130 million).^[45][46] On 3 September, it issued a second attachment order for a further ₹6,630 crore (US$1.0 billion) worth of Mallya's assets, including a farmhouse, shares in United Breweries and multiple flats in Bengaluru valued at ₹565 crore (US$88 million).^[47] By December 2016, the ED has attached a total of Rs 9661 crore worth of assets of Mallya and Kingfisher in India.^[48] This is one of the largest attachment of assets made by the ED in a Prevention of Money Laundering Act case till now.^[49] The ED also decided to send letters rogatory (LR) to the US, the UK and Europe requesting them to assist it in attachment of Mallya's over ten foreign assets.^[50][51]

ముంబయి : ల్యాంకో ఇన్‌ఫ్రాటెక్‌(ఎల్‌ఐటీఎల్‌)కు ఇచ్చిన రుణాలకు సంబంధించి దివాలా పరిష్కార ప్రక్రియ చేపట్టాలని ఐడీబీఐ బ్యాంకుకు రిజర్వ్‌ బ్యాంక్‌ ఆఫ్‌ ఇండియా(ఆర్‌బీఐ) మార్గనిర్దేశం చేసిన నేపథ్యంలో ఆ కంపెనీ షేర్లు రికార్డు స్థాయిలో పతనమవుతున్నాయి. సోమవారం మార్కెట్‌ ఆరంభంలోనే కంపెనీ షేర్లు 19.15 శాతం నష్టపోయి రికార్డుస్థాయి కనిష్ఠం రూ.1.90కు చేరాయి. శుక్రవారం ముగింపు నాటికి.. ల్యాంకో ఇన్‌ఫ్రా స్టాక్‌ 12 నెలల్లో 50 శాతానికి పడిపోయింది.

గత నెలలో బ్యాంకు నిరర్ధక ఆస్తుల సమస్యలను పరిష్కరించడానికి ప్రభుత్వం జారీ చేసిన ఆర్డినెన్స్‌ ఆర్‌బీఐకి ప్రత్యేక అధికారాలను ఇచ్చింది. దీని ప్రకరాం బ్యాంకు నిరర్ధక ఆస్తుల సమస్యలను పరిష్కరించడానికి బ్యాంకులకు ఆర్‌బీఐ సలహాలు ఇవ్వొచ్చు. ఇందు కోసం కమిటీలను కూడా నియమించవచ్చు. కొన్ని సమస్యల పరిష్కారంలో తలదూర్చే అధికారం కూడా రిజర్వు బ్యాంకుకు ఉంది. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో దివాలా పరిష్కార ప్రక్రియ చేపట్టాలని ఐడీబీఐ బ్యాంకుకు ఆర్‌బీఐ మార్గనిర్దేశం చేసింది.
