My bad, i thought Abhinav Mukund cricketer for a second.

Haha vadevado kooda teliyadu. Abhinav Bindra made a valid point if it concerns individual sports like the one he's part of. However, it's not as applicable to team sports, as much as he thinks it is.

Anduke evado foreign coach best manaki, foreign coaches know well how to massage the giant egos of Indian cricketers like how John Wright or Gary Kirsten did. Straight forward no nonsense doesn't work well with Indian cricketers, which is what people like Greg Chappell and now Anil Kumble have done. Plus people like Anil Kumble are legends in their own right and so won't take too kindly if someone like Kohli throws his attitude around them.

Anduke Dodda Ganesh will make a great coach for the Indian team as he's thrown his name in the mix. He was an average player at the international level so there would be no question of his ego clashing with someone like Kohlis. Tom Moody from Australia will be a good coach as well, he is a shrewd guy that coached Sri Lanka for a while which has a similar egotist culture to India, although not the extent it's prevalent in India.

Sehwag will be a disaster as a coach btw, don't forget that Sehwag's international career has been cut short by Dhoni and the fact that Sehwag wanted the captaincy so bad at one point which Dhoni made sure he didn't get.

Since Dhoni is part of the senior think tank in the team now, it won't be a good mix. Kohli listens to Sehwag perhaps since they have the Delhi connection, but then he also listens to Dhoni since Dhoni is the senior most player in the team along with being the captain so it's not going to go down well.

It will be interesting to see how Kohli behaves and responds once his form dips. No matter how great a player one is, it's imperative that his form dips at some point of time and results don't start going his way.

Wonder how Kohli is going to behave then, as he wouldn't perhaps have the backing of any coach with the attitude he displays.

But listens to him since Dhoni is an experienced captain. He can hate him all he wants, but till he starts displaying good captaincy skills and performs under pressure himself he won't be able to show the exit door to Dhoni.

what is this nonsense about the coach?

sport at the highest level involves a degree of luck too, beyond all that preparation and processes. So what Indians ran into was a very energized and talented pak team, that basically lucked their way in batting, and blew away Indians with their bowling.

Also the gyan Abhinav Bindra spews about sh1t from coaches is irrelevant. I don't see any coach surviving the ego of a player he coaches. More so, in a team game, where a captain feels responsible for his team, and wants to stand up for them. It's different if the sport is individual, and a sport where there are 3-4 gold medals up for grabs in every event. So Bindra won one of them, and pretends to understand the life of a cricketer in India. lol.

Its not the coach who plays on the field, so he has to go his way in case there's irreconcilable differences of opinion between players and the coach. Its not about who's right and who's wrong. Its about whats best for the team. Its clear that Kohli is more central to the team than Kumble is. Also Kumble's been extremely unprofessional by mentioning his differences with the 'captain' publicly. One can even make a case that a former star player, with a big ego, should avoid trying to become the coach. May be, these former star players would do well with players who listen to them. So he should try coaching Mandya team in Karnataka premier league, than Team India.

For all the crap Kohli does on the field, he's been well behaved off of it. And so have almost all Indian cricketers. All this talk about them throwing their weight around is just sour grapes.

Ofcourse they don't deserve the kind of attention they get. But that's what happens when a country of a billion plus sucks at everything else. Not their fault.

----------

How many coaches did Usain Bolt change before he hit gold, and after? It doesn't matter. Players have their internal processes. Its upto the coach to get along with them (apart from his outbursts at them), earn their trust and goodwill, and hoodwink them into doing what he wants to get done. Isn't that what every good manager does? Kumble should stop pretending that he's the victim here.

How many coaches did Murray change? Federer? None of that matters.
