Kohli is a legendĀ

What do you think about Warne's comments on John Buchanan while he was coach. And a highly successful coach in the mid 2000s when Aussies were winning almost everything?

What people miss is, you guys don't own the Indian cricket team.Who owns it? The captain does (BCCI is a non profit organization, in principle). Especially when its a captain who has hardly put a foot wrong in recent past.

Its different in franchise sports, where there's a clear owner and management that can dictate to the captain, and kowtow to fans when they want to.

It will be interesting to see how Kohli behaves and responds once his form dips. No matter how great a player one is, it's imperative that his form dips at some point of time and results don't start going his way.Ā

Wonder how Kohli is going to behave then, as he wouldn't perhaps have the backing of any coach with the attitude he displays.Ā

Thats a big question ippude team performance & personal form dip ayyi teda kodite vedava ayyedi kohli gaade...

Kohli godava BCCI tho na, Kumble tho na?

Kohli may have leaked the news about Kumble's authoritarian approach to the press on the eve of CT, but how better is Kumble, Ā confirming rumours about his differences with the 'captain'?

I don't understand why Kumble gets to pretend like he's the victim in this.

Coach antey, strong personallity tho undali, players bend teeyali ani majority ikkada sollu chepthunnaru ga.

It's not right. It depends on the team. If you like the coach so much, change the whole team. Otherwise the relationship is never going to work out.

John Buchanan coaching stint with International team coincided with the World beater AUS team, in his other coaching assignments he was a failure...He was with KKR also in IPL, more over AUS set up is different to us & guess if right Warne's comments were after retirement not during playing days.

Even Kevin Petersen had differences with Andy Flower and Eng team mates he was kept out inspite of him being in good form & wasn't even considered even though Eng was in poor form.

Thats why coaches are not that important. They are always dispensable. Warne publicly rebeled against Buchanan even during his playing days. If Warne was the captain, Buchanan would have been replaced much much earlier.Ā

In Kevin Pieterson's case, it was not just a dispute with Andy Flower. All his team mates seem to hateĀ him, and it was decided that he was a drag on the team's culture. so the similarities you think may have been there, actually makes my point about coaches being dispensable, stronger.

The good thing about cricket's future is, the current 'star players' dont have to go for things like coaching to make big dollars. They get to make it in IPL.

so coaching will be done by lesser famous players, who understand how to work with and manipulate the then star players, and extract max possible from them.

Kumble shouldn't even have been the coach in the first place. Dravid is so smart in choosing to coach an under 19 team, where he can get the guys to listen to him. Its delusional to expect it from a successful senior team like Team India.
