Nakka's social media threat gets SC blow

Hyderabad: AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will hate this development - Supreme's decision to strike off the Section 66-A of IT Act of 2000 brought in by the centre to curb the freedom on social media will be a big blow to the AP government and CM in particular!

SC opined that the section is a curbed to the freedom of expression. Centre brought this to hinder the objectionable posts on social media but SC is against it!

The court opined that what is good for few could be hurting to some and that does not give right to government to jail people for expressing views in public domain and dismissed the Section 66a.

As far as AP is concerned this is even more exciting - AP government arrested political satirists Ravikiran and one Ravindra for posting objectionable content on social media. This new order means more freedom to people.
