ఉపరాష్ట్రపతి అభ్యర్థిగా వెంకయ్యనాయుడు

న్యూదిల్లీ: ఎన్డీయే కూటమి ఉప రాష్ట్రపతి అభ్యర్థిగా కేంద్రమంత్రి వెంకయ్యనాయుడు పేరు ఖరారైంది. సుదీర్ఘ చర్చ అనంతరం భాజపా పార్లమెంటరీ బోర్డు ఆయనను ఉపరాష్ట్రపతి అభ్యర్థిగా ప్రకటించింది. రేపు ఆయన నామినేషన్‌ దాఖలు చేయనున్నారు. ఇవాళ రాత్రికి కేంద్రమంత్రి పదవికి రాజీనామా చేయనున్నట్లు సమాచారం. ప్రస్తుతం ఆయన పట్టణాభివృద్ధి, కేంద్ర సమాచార, ప్రసారాల శాఖ బాధ్యతలను నిర్వర్తిస్తున్నారు. భేటీ అనంతరం భాజపా జాతీయ అధ్యక్షుడు అమిత్‌షావెంకయ్య పేరును ప్రకటించారు.

ఉప రాష్ట్రపతి అభ్యర్థిగా ఖరారు అయిన నేపథ్యంలో ఆయనను ప్రధాని మోదీ, భాజపా జాతీయ అధ్యక్షుడు అమిత్‌షా అభినందించారు. తొలుత ఆయన పేరును అమిత్‌షానే స్వయంగా సూచించారు. దక్షిణాది నుంచి ఉప రాష్ట్రపతి అభ్యర్థిని ఎంపిక చేయాలని భాజపా సూత్రప్రాయంగా నిర్ణయం తీసుకోవడమే వెంకయ్య అభ్యర్థిత్వానికి కారణమైంది. తొలుత ఉపరాష్ట్రపతి పదవి పట్ల విముఖత చూపించినప్పటికీ పార్లమెంటరీ బోర్డు నిర్ణయాన్ని ఆయన స్వాగతించారు. ఇప్పటికే విపక్షాలు గోపాలకృష్ణ గాంధీని తమ ఉపరాష్ట్రపతి అభ్యర్థిగా ప్రకటించిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే.

వెంకయ్యనాయుడికి ప్రముఖుల అభినందనలు 
ఎన్డీయే ఉపరాష్ట్రపతి అభ్యర్థిగా ఎంపికైన కేంద్ర మంత్రి వెంకయ్యనాయుడుకు ప్రధానమంత్రి నరేంద్రమోదీ, భాజపా జాతీయ అధ్యక్షుడు అమిత్‌ షాతో పాటు పలువురు రాజకీయ ప్రముఖులు అభినందనలు తెలియజేశారు. మంగళవారం ఉదయం 11 గంటలకు ఉపరాష్ట్రపతి అభ్యర్థిగా వెంకయ్యనాయుడు నామినేషన్‌ దాఖలు చేయనున్నారు. వెంకయ్యనాయుడును ఎంపిక చేయడంపై ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌ ముఖ్యమంత్రి నారా చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు హర్షం వ్యక్తం చేశారు.
