Question on Quora - Is it better to move to Canada as a Permanent Resident instead of staying in US on H1B?

@tennisluvr

Weather not so great man compared to many places in the US. That's a major negative, unless of course you love really cold weather. Buy a house, hmm housing quite expensive in the major cities. Has a universal healthcare system though and lesser crime than US on an average, that's it I guess for the positives. Also good for you to go there if you are a Hockey(Ice Hockey) fan as that's their primary sport.

Vancouver has decent weather but outrageous real estate costs.

I don't think the weather is any worse than some midwest and north east states in usa. Housing is expensive but interest rates are low as well. If you can find a decent job you should be able purchase a house( except) vancouver. Its like bay area.

If I move, I will move to Ottawa man. Ottawa is still affordable.
