Texas itself is an ugly state so being the most beautiful town in a rather ugly state isn't that big a deal.

Flat terrains, a couple of decent lakes but not that unique. Not many good hiking spots.

haha hiking = beautiful ani evadu decide chesadu...

have you ever been to Austin or just TX? Austin has good terrain unlike other parts of TX, not as much as CA or midwest though.

I have been to Raleigh and other cities in NC, they have beautiful greenery but Austin has that too. and neither of them are as good as cities in pacific states or midwest

job-wise Austin is better.

How many universities would you need when you have a good one like UT Austin?

desi lu untara undara ani kaadu.

Nee field of work ki future prospects ekkada better ani decide chesuko.

Austin aithe daggarlo bigger markets like Houston/Dallas untayi. Kaani Austin is relatively more expensive than Raleigh. Austin state tax undadu, property tax peltundi, Raleigh other way around.

Kids unte nee priorities vere untundi kada. Social scene, school scene etc.

Nenu vinna daanni batti even though Austin is expensive if you can keep up with that weather, you will be fine there.

Kaadu more established firms undali ante Raleigh vellu.

End of the day 2 places perlu chepte evvaru suggest cheyyaleru. Kaasta job scene, family situation, nee ishtalu enti etc cheppali. Then people can help you better.

That's just one example. Plus it's beautiful to those that explore outdoors, weekend motham intlo koorchune vallaki maybe that doesn't apply. I didn't mean you in particular, just saying generally.

I love exploring outdoors on the weekends so a flat, hot place is boring to me. That said, Austin might be better than most other places in Texas.

I have been to Austin, and went hiking around Mt Bonnell plus kayaking in some of the lakes around town. I am not saying Austin is a bad place, it's perhaps the best Texas has to offer as you said it's just not for me. I have been to Galveston beach which is the closest to Austin I think and found it dirty and not so appealing.

I kinda disagree about MidWest states being more beautiful and happening than cities in NC, although Midwest is a fairly huge area and it depends on what you are referring to specifically here.

Regarding the universities, it does make sense to have more options if your kids were to try to attain scholarships when they want to go to college. What's the guarantee that they would get a scholarship if there's only one choice at hand, and the demand for the few scholarships for that one university would be huge consequently. Higher education is not even a close comparison.

Raleigh >>>>> Austin in that regard.
