10 acres in hyderbad outskirts farm land no flowing water but other farms sorrounding has bores working

any one has suggestion on kind of crops which give high return and need less water

thinking about mango farm with 2 to 3 years returns previous owner had sugar cane

tabacco if plant comes well makes maximum profit or else max loss

As far as I know Sugercane alone will not give enough margins. Sugercane season is only 6 months. Rest 6 months is where you make real profit. Normally people put Black Gram for the rest of season. Whatever you get from Sugercane will break even. This is how people do in coastal Andhra.

Some things we did to improve our margins

1. Imported labor from other states especially from Karnataka. They are much cheaper than Andhra people. But you need to provide food and accommodation. You also need a translator.

2. Bought our own farming equipment. It can save as much as 10% of expenses

3. Put the expert driver while taking loads to factory. This will make some difference. An expert driver does 15-16 trips but a bad driver only does 10-12 trips per week. Also, put someone you trust while taking the load to factory. Sometimes factory people show less weight on the load to save some money on their side. You need to watch weighing machine and do your own math.

I used to do all the calculations that time and even shepherd our buffaloes so that my father can focus on Sugercane.  Good old days.
