I would suggest to consider Bioinformatics rather than Clinical research.. In Clinical research they take samples from patients to whom a drug has been administered or from patients immunosupressed during transplantations..these samples are processed using different assays Microarray, Gene Expression, flow Cytometry...results are later analyzed by Biostatisticians, Bioinformaticians....So, think where do you want to be in this cycle...Getting a first job any where is tough...The reason for suggesting Bioinformatics is you can work with any Pharma or Biotech company...if not you can either shift to software field as you also do some programming courses in Bioinformatics....As far as consultancies I have never heard of any such..but you can google to see if there are any...Good luck...
