Congrats on getting GC. I am only questioning this myth that is being propagated by B Schools grads that they will get GCs on EB1- the cases I am seeing seem to suggest quite the contrary. So what if they have international engagements? Doesn't mean that they will prioritize these people and give them GCs.

There is no myth. I think you just assumed it based on what I posted in one reply. If you see all my posts from beginning, I was merely referring Satya's case. So, let's stick to Satya.

DB folks are saying Satya won't give up his GC, if he has to do it now. But I am saying, he can do it because he has all the qualifications and talent. Going back to international engagements, there are few positions in MBB, Big 4 that need international travel as manager and come back in EB1 category if they wanted do. A guy like Satya is more than qualified for that kind of position.

I don't disagree that Satya will not get a GC now. He will get it on O1 anyway.

Again for international engagements, you need to be with the company for a few years. It means you have to have a valid H1 (again same lottery system for that). Second, those companies have to bear huge costs to bring these guys back. These candidates need to again go through the justification process of  being here in a management role. Companies don't freely do it as having such policies means greater scrutiny on them from the immigration department. It all suggests of collusion between management to circumvent the immigration policies. When it comes to that point, companies will just pick and choose and reserve it for senior management. That bschool grad GC process looks far fetched for me.

so, you didn't look at link I posted. Here is how that position works. You join Big 4 international office, whatever your preference is, as senior Consultant. You then work from that office or travel for couple of years. You become manager and then come back with all the qualifications needed for EB1. These positions are rare but with globalization and companies not getting fair chance in lottery, they found other way to bring the talent to the places that talent deserves.

boss we are not talking about satya nadella the hotshot exec at MSFT or the CEO of MSFT , back then he was a regular engineer at MSFT who might have got his GC in EB2/EB3

Post his GC he went to Booth to get his MBA, what DB ppl saying is in this day and age if he was a regular engineer at MSFT he would have stayed put and he would never take  the calculated risk of giving up the Gc to get his wife in those days because the backlog is bigger

what you said about top MBA getting EB1 is true but there are lot of uncertainities.

That's the assumption you guys made. The assumption I made is, he would have converted to F1 while in Booth, study and then use the opportunities with EB1.

You guys made assumptions based on his resume. Resume won't capture everything especially personal preferences and professional risks. Did DB ever care about other things than hourly rate? People applied the same thinking on Satya, which I don't agree. There is more to life than GC and hourly rate. Personal preferences and calculated risks
