I am not say every Tom dick and Harry with a GC will become CEO. But show me a CEO or any C-level guy with a H1b currently holding the position.

I will give you a very good example of this, a lot of my family members are alumni of the university I attended, which is a pretty well known public university and land, sea and air grant institution of research. Most of them had been from my previous generation, so like 15 years older than me in the least.

One of my uncles ended up not taking a job with the bigger hardware companies like Intel at that time, this was in the mid 90s. He ended up working for a smaller semiconductor manufacturing company and went onto become one of the top 5 in the company, which eventually got acquired for a pretty hefty sum by their bigger rival based out of San Jose. He is retired today and pretty much mostly does some freelancing stuff depending on his time, he has homes in Asia(Singapore) and a vacation home in Venice. He pretty much lives life on his own terms. All because he got his GC with no effort around the time he applied.

Try to imagine us thinking about doing such things even 10 years from now, my bet is that we will still be slogging for that f***g GC.

True. Slavery continues.

It is well reputed, I use AppDynamics in our environment at the moment and AppDynamics is waaaay better than their closest competitors for the most part.

Plus they are continuing to innovate, so no AppDynamics isn't technically a start up anymore.

I think you are talking about product. I am talking about reputation in taking H1s and doing GCs.
