Director Sukumar wanted to film a raunchy item number on Anasuya, but he is said to have dropped the idea. Instead, he has restricted her to a mere character.

Anasuya is playing a seductress in the period drama titled "Rangasthalam" that features Ram Charan and Samantha as the lead pair, set in the rural backdrop.

To add a dash of glamour to the film, Sukumar has instead signed the current hot girl Pooja Hegde who wowed the audiences with ample skin show in "DJ Duvvada Jagannadham".

With Anasuya's recent item number in "Winner" turning out to be a damp squib, Ram Charan and Sukumar have decided not to give her the item song.

Kajal and Tamannah were also considered, but they felt their item songs will not add much spice to the film. Since Pooja is currently hot, she has been roped in.

Moreover, she is said to have agreed to do this song for a much lower price than what Kajal and Tamannah regularly take for an item number.

The special song will be filmed later this month at a specially erected set in Hyderabad.
