hello987
On 12/29/2017 at 9:33 AM, CricPokChic said: IPL 2018 | Sunrisers Hyderabad to retain Warner, Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar As per a report, it is learned that Sunrisers Hyderabad is going to retain David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar ahead of the mega-auction on January 27 and 28. Yuvraj Singh is struggling with the form and was not part of Team India and will be available for the auction. Preparations for Vivo IPL 2018 are on a roll as teams are gearing up for players retention ahead of mega players auction on 27 and 28 January. 2016 Indian Premier League winning team Sunrisers Hyderabad have decided to retain three players from 2017 squad. “Dhawan, Bhuvi, and Warner have done a tremendous job for Hyderabad team and these were key players in 2016’s victory. Hence we have decided to retain these three from our 2017 squad,” a close member of the SRH team told to SportsMirchi reporter in Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad will be retaining their prime players for 2018 Vivo Indian Premier League. Skipper David Warner will be retained ahead of the auction along with his SRH opening partner Shikhar Dhawan. India’s fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar will also be seen playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL-11. One of the close sources from Hyderabad team management told Sports Mirchi that Warner, Dhawan, and Bhuvneshwar were special parts of team’s success during 2016 and 2017 season. He mentions that we are keen to retain these three players before auction as per IPL retention policy. When we asked about Yuvraj Singh’s retention, the official didn’t make any exact comment about it but cleared that Yuvi had been struggling with form and fitness for quite long. He wasn’t so impressive in the last IPL edition as well, hence management is not planning to retain Yuvraj for 2018 Indian Premier League. As per IPL players retention norms, one franchise can retain a maximum of 3 players from their previous squad. Meanwhile, they have a maximum of 2 Right To Match choice option for an opting player on the roster again. Hence a team can have 5 players at most from their previous squad. Teams have to submit their retention players list by 4th January. Indian Premier League’s 11th edition is all set to kick off on April 4 and 8 teams will be competing in the competition. Chennai and Rajasthan teams are making comeback in the league and it will be a great opportunity for franchises to build their team in the auction in January last week. Kool_SRG
IPL 2018: Kings XI Punjab will only retain one player says Virender Sehwag What's the story? Ahead of the player retention for IPL 2018, Kings XI Punjab director Virender Sehwag admitted that they will retain just one player and use the Right To Match (RTM) cards to keep players who have been incredibly consistent for the franchise. Speaking ahead of the player retention, Sehwag said: "We are planning to retain one player and use our Right To Match (RTM) cards for players who have done well for us like Glenn Maxwell, David Miller, Hashim Amla, Sandeep Sharma or Mohit Sharma. We are planning to use all our RTM cards. We would like to pick new talent. We have done it in the past with Sandeep Sharma or Axar Patel.’’ In case you didn't know... Kings XI Punjab narrowly missed out on making it through to the playoffs for IPL 2017 as they finished fifth, just two points behind Kolkata Knight Riders in the group stage. KXIP have only qualified for the playoffs twice in the 10 year history of the tournament. They made the semi-final of the inaugural edition of the tournament and finished runners-up in the 2014 edition. The heart of the matter There has been a constant influx of players for KXIP throughout the history of the IPL and this year looks to be no different as owner Ness Wadia admitted that will be a fresh start for the franchise. "We want to rebuild the whole franchise. It is up to Brad Hodge, Viru and his team to deliver," Wadia added. What's next? The player retention event will take place in Mumbai on Thursday and it will be telecast live on Star Sports from 7pm. Author's take Considering the amount of money that they will have to spend to retain three players, Kings XI Punjab's policy of just retaining one player certainly makes sense. While they have some consistent performers, there haven't been too many standout players and starting off with a clean slate makes a lot of sense and affords them with the purse to pursue the players that they want during the IPL Auction 2018. Isari retention kuda chupinchatini plan chestunnaru... With the deadline for the retentions closing in, it has been reported that Star Sports will telecast the event. Earlier, the player retentions used to be done through formal e-mails, which was sent to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) by the IPL teams. “The idea is to send out a message that that the IPL is not just about money. A lot of effort is put in team-building and we want to start the IPL coverage through retention. The retained players form the core of the teams," a Star official was quoted saying to Pune Mirror.
