if you want technocrats in power, it won't work for a huge democratic country like India. It's more possible if India is broken up into autonomous regions that can do its own foreign policy, trade agreements etc.

Technocrats in power doesn't make sense, technocrats need work as they are executors. They exactly know what's happening and they are the only guys who should comment on the status quo of social issues. The job of artists is to contribute relief for the working society. India is fcuked up in big way when you see that these so-called artists want to meddle with technocrats and their working details instead of providing a comment. And the current trend is that this cancer is deep rooted in the Indian psyche where actors become the standard for estimating governance mechanisms

actors are not standards of anything. do you think people take what Vijay said about GST seriously? How about this movie - Gentleman by Shankar from the 90s. He showed that a guy who got state first rank was denied medical seat, and was asked for a bribe. does that even happen in real life?

artists job is to exaggerate. That's how they provide 'relief' to the society, by giving them an outlet for their joys, desires, frustrations, exaggerating each of them. Atleast that's how commercial movies operate everywhere in the world. problems differ in different parts of the world.

Lets take TN. Actors didn't come to power just like that. MGR was politically active for more than 15yrs before he became CM. Jayalalitha too. Rajini etc won't even come close to power because they were never politically active. Same with Vijay. 

Politically active means connecting with people and learning about their problems, and working towards (organizing people) solving them. It doesn't require a genius to do it. Just someone with good people skills and bit of cunning.

If Technocrats in power makes no sense, what are you talking about? That only Technocrats should convene press meets and explain their policies? Are they doing that in India? lets talk if they do it. until then populist nonsense is just an avenue for people to vent. 

yeah, Vijay is a dumbfcuk. so is that director. and except some of his dumb fans nobody worships Vijay.That bugger is not even that popular beyond madras and a few urban areas.

You just assume that people like Vijay are not taken seriously, until some asshole ends up becoming Minister, corrupts by blocking sense into every industry under his reach and dilutes the entire government mechanism. What a waste of energy for the valuable youth
