Yes you are right. Technically they are Asian but culturally they aren't referred to as Asian.

Antha ledu maa parents never compared us to anyone but they insisted on working towards academics as they believed it was key to successful career. But never discouraged if we wanted to do certain activities be it trying painting, karate or music never discouraged trying anything ofcourse we didn't ace in that though. Konchem saduvukoni, if they have lived in  4-5 places they know what it is.

no. not in US. I have no clue what my cousins earn and my parents or their parents don't discuss about it. But while they are in India, they do comparisons. 

Even in classes, we have no clue what other students GPA is as there is no ranking.
