We've bought a town house measuring 2,500 square feet-  60 miles from Richmond for $268,000.  But this was back in 2013. Nice, quiet neighbhorhood.

60 miles from Rcihmond...268k in 2013 ante...

Why is it so expensive even though its far from city?

Richmond lo want to buy a single Family house within 220-250k...

Glen Allen & ShortPump are areas i am aware of...

But when i look in Zillow, i see 2017 built houses for this range but in Chesterfield area... I heard Chesterfield lo peddaga desi lu vundaru..also far from the city laaga antunnaru

Ivi kaadante ekkada chudatam better

Emantaru bhayya.....

For that range not in Glen Allen or Short pump...and I don't think now even in Chesterfield...you may get very old homes in chesterfield may be but school district is not good. It's better to rent apartment and stay in Short pump area if you cannot afford to buy home there, at least kids will go to good schools.

Find a realtor. Shilpi Golia is popular from that area.

I think this is because although it's far from Richmond - it's closer to Norfolk, VA Beach and Newport News which have a decent number of companies.

Of course in our personal case we wanted to live in a really quiet and peaceful neighbhorhood which meant deliberately choosing a place away from the buzz of the city.
