My favorite movie..More over Rudraveen own production was a well acclaimed movie kaani commercial ga major sucess ani cheppalem.

market perigithey, they can't do meaningful movies, because those movies require low budgets. Alaa chesthey, their market will reduce over time.

one this, one that, strategy also not possible. They simply have to make their next movie bigger than the last one. That's how capitalism works. market can destroy Chiru/Rajini's reputation if they don't toe the line of the capitalists. Their fame is manufactured by the system. Its not organic. They know it.

cinema is not art. its pure commerce, that borrows from great arts elsewhere. and the actors are freelance talents. anthaki minchi valla gurinchi vaallu ekkuva oohinchukoni, meaningful cinemalu teesthey vaalla career smash.

Ofcourse, if someone is happy doing small movies, then that is different. I don't think there's any actor like that.

what you are talking is not 'different' movies, just good and decent movies. That Chiru can make if he gets away from his old friends in the industry and makes new friends with upcoming writers.

Absolutely. I think you are being very generous here by even calling it a mediocre movie. 

If directors really wanted to bring stories of erstwhile historic figures to screen, they shouldn't go with the "stars" at all.
