Take it to a different dealer, my dealer I think is fair enough when it comes to this surprisingly. 

My car had to get a 40k miles maintenance done recently, he charged me $95. I have a Toyota as well.

If your vehicle is under warranty offered by Toyota and you get your vehicle serviced by independent mechanics, can they(I mean Toyota) refuse a claim which you might have in the future in case your car needs to get it covered by warranty?

maintenance flash never would result in such high bill, it would typically be cabin air filter appears to be the reasonable one rest ate all bambai by dealer,ask for toyota recommended maitainence plan details, he should brings the toyota notes over to you

 

is this too much, go for a different dealer

that was what the dealers told me when it was in warranty. So i took mine to the dealer as long as it was in warranty. I am not sure if it is correct or not

Mine has extended warranty upto 100k miles, so I guess I would have to take it to the dealer till it hits the 100k mile mark. I am mostly going to sell it before it hits the 100k mark anyway.

Anni avasaram ledhu. They are just trying to rip you off.

Oil change - Must

Cabin Air filter - Good thing to do if cheap ga unte

Engine Air filter - May be.

Check with your Car user manual on cabin air filter & engine air filter - Enni miles ki cheyyali anedhi.

Other than these 3, rest are all rip offs. If possible vere service center ki velli chuudu. That guy might not even suggest these things and just do engine oil change.

nenu na  car ki velthe same thing annadu. Ippudu just engine oil change cheyyi. Rest next week chuddam I'm in hurry anna. Malli inko 6 months ki servicing ki pothe, he did not even suggest the things that he suggested from my previous visit.

He up sold you all these "throttle body fuel injection system,brake fluid exchange,battery service and test"... Dealers make money thru services (they hardly make 1000-2000 thru selling a car)...

So they try to upsell you with all the services which are not required.. check the manual and do only recoomeded things bhayya.... when he calls you to upsell for any service which is not required, learn to say NO

Cabin filter and engine air filter are very easy to replace on your own, hardly takes 30min and i will do it on my own for honda, check youtube for that. Remaning not sure if they cost that much, but you can go to walmart or costco they will charge very less compared to dealers for all the basic stuff that you’re doing.
