HSA - You can put some pre-tax dollars for medical expenses.

Nevu PPO, HSA ki premium entha, deductibles entha, out of pocket max entha, employer HSA ki entha free money contribute chesthunadu vunte cheppochu.

end of the day, PPO ki upfront ekkuva pay chesi visit vellinapudu low pay

HSA upfront low pay visits veliinapudu high pay chesthavu.

PPO details:

monthly premium :950

individual deduct 500 (in network)

family deductable 1000(in network)

max out of pocket $4500 individual

family $9000 out of pocket

Hsa details:

monthly premium 715

In HSA case you pay everything upto $3500 if they are in-network and after that everything is paid by insurance. That is the max out of pocket by a single person in a worst case scenario if he goes in-network for the entire year.

HSA is for people who visit doctor less number of times(My opinion). Usually HDHP plans are eligible for HSA.

Few companies like myne contributes about $200 every year to HSA for free plus you can contribute on your own to HSA.

You can start contributing HSA whenever from your paycheck and use this HSA(payflex debit card) for eligible expenses.

For example, last year I used this HSA money to buy BP monitor and Diabetes related stuff as they are eligible expenses.

One of my friend used for Lasik surgery, he started contributing his pre-tax dollars for about an year.

For a bachelor with good health, HDHP plan with HSA is best
