name one cinema person in TN who became a leader without experience in politics. even if Vijay wants to succeed in politics (some leadership position), he has to work for atleast 10yrs. First he has to declare his ideology, and not wishywashy humanism nonsense. Karuna, MGR, JJ did.

NTR is probably the only person who was elected to power based on his onscreen persona. I heard TG people voted for him more than Andhra did.

anyway popular and rich people getting into politics is not for money, atleast in the beginning. They usually get into it, with righteous anger at the system, of which they are also a part. Soon they realise their mistake and fall in line with the system. Smarter ones will exploit it for their benefit.

common man is waiting to be exploited. siggu lajja ledhu common man ki. He lets other rule over him, because he doesn't understand the world around him, and wants someone to take care of everything, while he gets busy with making money.

If common man is actually smart, there would be no politics, no state, no country. People will freely move across regions, and can live without any restrictions or taxes. But that requires lot of investment in time from the common man. Time he can better spend watching youtube videos, liking someone's vacation pics on facebook, etc.

The only thing that'll succeed in TN is dravidian parties in the short term, and Tamil nationalism in the long term. TN is fcuked.

but there is hope. There are direct democracy movements in TN that ask people to reject electoral politics and get into agitational politics. I hope that gains more ground than stupid Tamil nationalism.

It is absolutely fine, if they are genuine and have some intuitive social welfare and administrative skills. On the flip side, like you mentioned, they tend to get bulk of votes due to their onscreen persona (just because of it). Irrespective of whether they win or loose, they split votes considerably, which I hate.
