Popular playback singer Radhika, who sang over 200 songs in every South Indian language, passed away on Friday morning of a heart attack at a private hospital in Chennai. She was 47.

The vocalist was not keeping well for some time and was undergoing treatment for a kidney disorder. Best known in Telugu for her song Bavalu Sayya... Maradallu Sayya from the film Bava... Bavamaridi, Radhika gave many hits in Tollywood including Aata Kavala, Baavalu Sayya, Amalapuram Bulloda and Sunnunda Theesuko among others. Born in Tirupati, Radhika had been away from the world of film music since 2014 and was staying in Chennai.

"I am deeply saddened by her demise. I met Radhika when I was staying in Chennai and she sang in two films for me. She also worked with Koti and all her songs with us were chart busters. What can I say now? I pray to God to give her bereaved family strength to bear the grief and pain," said prominent music composer Mani Sharma.
