Recently I watched a tv show, ancient secrets and aliens. There's an episode on Ajantha & Ellora. Conclusion was it's humanly impossible to construct such a huge cave structures within the timeline and with the tools and techniques available at that time. So implies that some form of alien technology or help was obtained to finish that work.

 

To me, it seemed that the western media is in denial of the advanced (for those ancient times) ways people employed and lived in the subcontinent.

 

Instead of appreciating human ingenuity and trying to figure out how they might have achieved that, they are just snubbing it off as alien tech.
