I don't necessarily agree with De on many other issues, but she does have a point here. Why all the fuss about Ivanka? What is she? A mere advisor to the president of US.

And don't forget, it wasn't a Indo-American business summit. It was Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) where delegations from 125 other countries were present. Making it about one person is pathetic.

bcoz she is the only famous personality every one can recognize... No one even know the names of other people from 125 countries...

She is the daughter and political advisor of the most dominant country in the world.

GES is happening for the first time in the south asia... and any security lapse will have a red mark and the next GES cannot happen in another 100 years...

You have please the entrepreneurs to get the business to our country...

Ok. I have two points:

1. She belongs to an organization that exploits poverty in countries like India to make her clothes for cheap, often in pathetic working conditions. There is nothing entrepreneurial about that, nor is it empowering women.

2. She belongs to an administration that vehemently pushes an 'America First' agenda that directly clashes with 'Make in India' (I know, its hypocritical of the Trumps to have their business of making merchandise outsourced and push for America first at the same time)

Now, to respond to your point, what security lapse are you talking about? How is locking up beggars a security measure? How is killing stray dogs a security measure (please don't tell me she was vulnerable to a dog bite)? How is painting sidewall along roads a security measure?

And what's with the fcuking media? Why are they covering her in a loop? This obsession of white people is awful.

I never said she is bringing the business to India... She is just a host of a powerful organisation... world is keeping an eye on this event... atleast some might attract to India and bring business...0.1% is also more than 0% right...

Very good point. I totally agree with you.

The event had nothing to do with business the way it's been seen, but everything to do with Ivanka's arrival. Mind you, this is someone that has no official designation in the current cabinet.

It was even more pathetic to see the PM of a so called largest democracy in the world literally grovel in front of her, and the IT minister of TG who claims to have been educated in the West refer to IT as Ivanka Trump.

Her claim to fame was being a "model" courtesy of her father's wealth and for having her own label of designer hand bags, ironically most of which are manufactured in sweat shops in India and such.

Since the Govt obviously couldn't influence the President himself to come and pay a visit for business reasons to India, this was a ploy to atleast win her over so she could do some curry favoring with her father I guess.

Naturally Ivanka is no body without the Trump label, but she has one now. As an adviser to the President of US, she is something..

How about Shobha De ? I remember she being a socialite but any given day, an adviser to President of USA is far better than a socialite.
