Don't want to discredit CBN effort. But he is not inventor of IT in Hyderabad , But he did brought it to international focus. And gave AP youth the option of not leaving to Bangalore and work in Hyderabad. 

one name I can remember before Hitech city times was CMC. Ofcourse there was no eenadu paper bhajana that time to make the hype.

CMC later expanded its services to systems integration, interfacing, installation, commissioning, software development, as well as education and training. CMC's R&D facility was set up in 1982 at Hyderabad.[9] CMC was renamed CMC Limited (Computer Maintenance Corporation) in August 1984

1980's la Bangalore lo first high speed data connectivity vachindi, thanks to ISRO facilities...and that eventually made top preferred destination for IT companies after Mumbai, which only had sea link and landing connectivity in India...

After that by 1990's, Chennai, Hyderabad were also connected to the data grid and sea link access and they naturally became alternate hubs for IT business. No other city had sea link connectivity and landing except Bangalore,Mumbai,Chennai and Hyderabad with Mumbai being the first, Bangalore second(Dedicated line) followed by chennai and Hyd.

Come 1996, yeah sensing huge opportunity in IT sector by looking at Bangalore, CBN did promote this industry...and he has to be credited with it but, introducing ani, infrastructure ani...novotel anta..Hitex anta...avanni TDP party office kosam kattindu kadu, NTR trust kelli paisal teesukochi pettinayi kaadu....It followed a natural growth and for which CBN acted as a promoter..

Yes. Satyam was huge in that area that time. Also lot of companies near the airport area.
