Virat Kohli is one of the reasons that I want India to fail abroad, and be ridiculed. unless ofcourse, the team plays well as a unit.

Because India is better off playing the team game, than propping up another Tendulkar like player as 'The man'.

Well thanks for exposing, we all know that jealous Sachin fans want to see Virat Kohli fail. For some reason, I don't think he's going to give them a good reason in this upcoming tour though.

Plus unlike Tendulkar, Virat actually does his bit in trying to see that it's not just another one man team as "the man", he would of course still take charge as the captain and lead by example.

HE is already in a league beyond Tendulkar, no other batsman in the history of cricket has dominated all the 3 formats of the game with such ease and consistency.

Their team roles aren't different, both are the number one batsmen in their respective teams at their respective teams. Even the Australian bowlers acknowledge that Virat Kohli is their "numero uno" or their prize catch, just like how Sachin was.

Michael Bevan was never the numero uno in the AUssie team even if he were to be the most consistent batsman. Plus, these kind of asinine comparisons are only brought forth by Sachin fans who can't digest the fact that their "god" is made to look human by Virat Kohli who never had any aspirations to be called as "God" by his fans.

I certainly do have more expectations from him than I ever did with Sachin, so it might seem that way.

But then I wasn't the one who started comparing him to Sachin in this thread, I even mentioned that they had their own place.

Yes Sachin never had to play while also captaining the side and worrying about the win/loss of team as a captain, which Virat does day in and day out with outstanding results.

Virat is the product of modern cricketing apparatus, with its minute analysis, stringent fitness standards, top class physiotherapists, etc.

your comparison is a bit like comparing Rod Laver with Roger Federer, or even John McEnroe with Fed.

Yes mathematically, most of the gains of a complicated support system flows into a very narrow set of players. It may be for a number of reasons. That's why top ranked modern players in every sport are far ahead of their competition in almost every sport.

stop comparing players from yesteryear to modern ones, just because you caught on to something about one player that you liked. atleast make some arguments beyond silly statistics.

Interesting or useful is very subjective, you seem to think they are objective.

I'm far more knowledgeable than you are. I hate to bicker on silly stuff like number of centuries, grand slams, and such bullshit to compare one player and another.

I didn't compare in this thread. You are the one that did it, I just posted an article. You seem to have had some issue with it since it compares Sachin's supposed invincibility at his peak with Virat's form off late. You should perhaps offer the same rationale to the one that wrote the article to begin with, you can find it on the web page perhaps.

Just like billionaires of this era are incredibly rich compared to the Rockefellers, and even old boy club type billionaires in the Boston area, every achiever in every field will be way ahead of his/her competition.

This is how modern world works.

using this to show your frustration on Sachin is pretty pointless. And to blame someone for being jealoous, when I've already admitted that Virat is much more level headed and professional than Sachin. Its like you want to think you are great mind reader, but lack the tools to efficiently do that.

just read how I compared, and how you responded.

the only thing I said is that you are opening yourself to ridicule by backing Virat this much. Rest all comparison is just indifferent opinion. Which you conveniently blame on jealousy, because you can't look past your own biases on Kohli's invincibility.

You failed to answer an elementary question, where is it that I started comparing Sachin and Virat on this thread? Can't you go back and read your own posts, or do you have an inability to accept something that you don't necessarily agree with?

Okay I will lift this thread after the SA tour.
