Any other 'democratic republic' where tens of thousands were killed in riots? counting from 1945. Not even Pakistan had that many killings apart from bangladesh genocide (not saying that doesn't count), but in India it happens even in 'peace' time.

 

No one condoned them, be it 26 or 260, the majority rejected them. Not sure what else you are expecting from the common folk. Pretty sure they arent happening anymore so probably the govt has done its part to stop them.

Riots happened, people on both sides have been killed. The majority of the bombings in India were done by you know who. But like I said they are all other topics and it never ends if we start discussing all those, hence im not going there.

No. riots happened, and more number of minorities (include sikhs here) died than on the majority side. the ratio will blow your mind. ofcourse the people rioting on the street will be those loser lower caste hindus who didn't realise that they were being manipulated.

now that there's more political awareness, riots have definitely decreased. uppercaste will not get into riot field unless they are 100% sure they can be on top of things. thankfully, even with police support to uppercastes, things are not cut and dry now.

If you take the whole of south asia, pretty sure more muslims are killed in riots, than Hindus. its not even close. add to that, goondagiri of hindus.

UP CM is a gau rakshak, was a gau rakshak, and will always be a gau rakshak. don't forget that. There were cute pictures of him playing with cows, after these incidents, and most of them did think to make that connection, probably.

I don't want 'left wingers' to rule. I don't want anyone to rule. I want people to be left alone to organize and rule themselves. 

human nature is not one specific thing. nobody has unlocked it yet. human nature is malleable, even in groups. It can range from being absolutely cruel to being angelic.

if you talk of utility of particular type of organization. what has the current system brought India? desperation, and poverty, and people fighting for crumbs like reservation (which is less than 0.1% of the organized workforce). clearly, Indians don't have their house in order.

may be time to start not being so sure about the route India is on. both economically and politically.

human nature is malleable ony when individuals within groups challenge its beliefs. If people just accept everything, its straight path to fascism (both left and right). nothing less.

today these challenges can be on hindutva, tomorrow it can be on atheist philosophy, or if you prefer Islam (when it actually captures power in India). challenge is always made against the existing power structure inside a group.
