Why did Chandrababu Naidu delete tweet praising Veer Savarkar?

The reason Naidu could have deleted the tweet is because the TDP's relations with ally BJP have been a bit rocky lately
  • Savarkar, who's said to have coined the term 'Hindutva', is held in high esteem by the BJP
  • The saffron party venerates Savarkar as a "freedom fighter", but many opposition parties say he wasn't a supporter of India's independence movement.
 
 
NEW DELHI: Many on Twitter are wondering why Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief deleted a tweet he had posted earlier, in which he paid "tribute" to RSS founder Veer Savarkar whose death anniversary falls today.

According to screenshots shared on Twitter, the TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh chief minister, tweeted the following around 7 am this morning: "Humble tributes to the legendary freedom fighter, Veer Savarkar ji, on his death anniversary."
