Our journey started in 1998 , still waiting EB3 India PD 9/2007 to get current. Our 4 and 5 years old daughters are now 23 and 21. Very stressful COS from H4 to F1. The older one got Pre med degree graduated this May and second one Comp Science next year.  

Trying to get them STEM degree so that they can make their future themselves. Husband on H4 EAD last year only. Me still struggling to get EAD atleast.....Frustrated every day.... still hanging on...

I am on H1B visa and my daughter is on H4. In Feb 2020 she will age out. I have approved I140 from my previous employer with priority date 2012 and current I140 is pending since last year.  

She is doing her BS, majoring in Biology, and she has option to graduate in Dec 2019 or May 2020. She gets instate tuition and Provost scholarship.  

She intends to do further study in US so has to convert to F1.

Mainly they aren't even a vote bank, evadu dekhadu. Their kids can study outside US anyway if needed.

Removing per country caps will mean US will turn into India. It will also impact GC wait times of other countries. Other countries should not have to bear the consequences of Indias large population. If you have a large family with 5+ siblings, you learn to share your toys with them, don't expect the neighbor family with single child to share his/her toy with you because your parents decided to go with a large family. 

Yes it's unfair to you as an individual but what you want is for other countries to share the burden of Indias population. Imagine having to go to work with people who will now have to wait much longer for a GC because of you. You want to fix this, it should be fixed without impacting other countries.

 

I don't think you understand how statistics works. Larger population doesn't just mean more low skill workers, it also means more highly skilled people. Regardless of the merit, you still would have more higher skilled Indian people applying for GC. I agree merit for H1B will fix H1B incredibly. If you think that can reduce the Indian GC application to roughly 7% of the world application, then why remove the per country cap? H1B has no caps, and look at the spam you have from Indians. Do that to the GC and the rest of the world would be all screwed.
