A 3.9 magnitude earthquake struck San Jose Monday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake hit at 9:39 a.m. just five miles northeast of Alum Rock. This is about nine miles from San Jose City Hall.

South San Jose are reporting they could feel it. One person described it as a "short jolt," while another said she felt five seconds of shaking.

Morgan Hill and Gilroy residents were also rattled. Barbara, who lives by Anderson Lake, says "it felt like just a slight shake like someone walking across the room."

Others tell they felt it as far away as Milpitas and Fremont.

No damage or injuries have been reported.
