Tableau experts help plzz.

1st qn..Tableau lo 100 workbooks unnay..each workbook is using seperate query but using same 1 database. So datadources lo i have to create 100 datadources. Is there way to create 1 database connection and point all 100 workbooks to this connection...bcoz future lo database connection change aithe i have to change it 100 times kada....,

2nd qn....workbooki security permission 

Lets say 100 workbooks and 200 users...some of the workbooks ni certain users ki restrict cheyyali...how to do that..there will be lot of conbinations...help flz

Only 1 database connection undi annavu, u might have 100 data sources , underlying query will be same for that 100 datasources.......no need to change this.....future lo it the database connection changes, all you have to it to replace the existing the database with the new databse......as long as the new database has all the views and fields same as the old one, you don't need to change anything to your underlying query of your 100 days soudces

Query is different for each workbook.but database is same...so each workbook will have different datasouurce kada..

Okk query is diff kada....try this option and see......edit connection and look of you can apply changes at a time to all 100 datasources.....try that and see, even I am not sure

Either replace connection or edit connection, we can do it only for 1 data source at a time.......there must be other workaround for this.....sorry, naaku strike avvatledu

We can edit multiple at a time..i just found out..

No you cannot have 1 db connection pointing to multiple workbooks. Verything is local to workbook

 

Kani anni oke sari same connection ki change cheyyochu tableau server lo. Still they remain different connections.
