There is always a time to take a shot is big games. 5/10 itself isn't too big game according to me. Most casinos have cap of 2k. And yes with 15k bankroll taking a shot once in a while is always my go. As we work in IT, if we always try to play 2/5 cap of 1k or less, earning up winnings would be even over the period of time. As per my gaming ability 15k is a good bankroll to take a shot in a cap 5/10 of 2k. I'm not a reg, I'm a rec but not gambler. i take my odds to step up my game to next level, so I take a shot in certain intervals. Grinding is not even bad according to me, but if we are even even after playing 50 sessions I'm not ok with it.

*I'm not talking about gambling here, and I don't think our guys who are really interested in putting their money and time don't take it easy as well.

I got your point, you are saying that grinding is not possible for people like us.

we need to take shots at games to increase bankroll. As max sessions we can play per yr is 10-30, it’s better to embrace variance than struggling to be breakeven player. What you said makes sense, only thing I am trying to say is what would you have done when you busted  your 2k bankroll playing 2/5 in 2 or 3 sessions. If married guys are doing that, they will be obviously considered as gamblers by their better halves. But your point makes much sense to me now that if we do not have lot of volume to put,  it’s better to go for high variance route and make best out of it. Good that I got to think in different perspective and I will try to implement this some time soon. Thanks again @Nellore_peddareddi for a productive conversation.

My strategy is, if am playing 2/5: buy-in max which is $500, if it’s 1/3, $300, if 5/5, then $700. For any type of game, if I lose my money, I buy-in the same again for the second time, worst case scenario, lose again, that’s it pack-up, look forward another day. Most probably, with second buy-in I try to make money.

I buyin for 100BB usually and carry 2 buyins worth in cash. If I go on tilt and  lose 1st buyin and I am self aware I go home and not even use 2nd buyin. If I see table full of maniacs I try to min buy and play high variance.

well to be honest with u, I used to buy-in for 3rd and 4th time in the initial stages, like couple yrs ago,  time passed, gained experience, lessons learned, and now not any more. My focus and intention is always towards a proper play, and make money. Touch wood.

i carry around 5 orange chips always(1k each), if I play 2/5 will start with max buyin of 1k and play two bullets but I always add on when I get short of max. Like if i lose 100 bucks I add on 100 bucks. The only reason is if i'm going short i try to gamble, like jam with weak hands and lose more if we have less money, so always want to be with max and do same for 5/10 two bullets with 2k buyins. 

And at any point of game if i'm feeling i'm not running good or not my day, I'll call of day instead hoping to get lucky

what if you are getting only one session per two months and in that session you feeling that you are not running good?

if that's case take a break from game for 15-20 mins if you are running bad, and change your table. Decide while starting from home win or lose you play 10 hrs. It looks like you want to play game win or lose ,but play with caution.
