Atheists are no better. Hit up with an random atheist and ask him about God.. And then ask him if beleves in Hinduism.. He'll say that Hinduism is not a religion, but a 'way of life'... haha.. that's the level of sophistication that most atheists in India have.

I want to say one more thing. a alightly elaborate one.

By asking for proof of absence of God, you are trying to use an Atheist's obsession for 'proof' against him/her. But it doesn't work. Because the absence of proof of existence of God is the proof of its absence (atleast for the time being).

You want people to prove that God doesn't exist. But that's not how science works. If you are so interested, you have to come up with a methodology to prove that God doesn't exist, and it will be proved by scientists. But it won't change your perception of God. So stop using 'proof' or scientific validity of Atheism as reason to mock it.

People are free to be atheists by rejecting god. They have no obligation to explain why they reject God, in the scientific sense.

IMO, God, as a concept, has thrown a spanner into development of humanity into something more than itself. Its a disgusting, vile, concept that has stuck to humans like a leech. Yeah, it does some good now and then. But the sooner humans get rid of this God (both organized religion, and this belief that there's an intelligent omnipotent force), the better for organizing humans in more productive way.

Absolutely. I agree.

Here's the problem with that, and the new age Atheists. Believers don't just believe in God, they foist their beliefs on others around them, use state benefits, indoctrinate their children about the existence of this 'God',  and are a powerful social, political and economic lobby.

The fight against believers (actually the general disgust) is against that cornering of power by believers. Not because Atheists are offended by the belief of believers.

Ofcourse new age Atheists, behave exactly like believers (worshipping capital, glamorizing sleaziness, believe in individual exceptionalism), and that's why they are no better than believers. The new age Atheists hold as much or slightly more power, but stay behind the scenes to influence public life.

So I'm an Atheists, but I don't identify with Atheists as a group. Its not some fcuking superpower to be Atheist. It just basic common sense that says that I don't have to believe all the sh1t I 'feel', without proof. Nothing more.

God, if it exists, is not self aware, and cannot control anything. God just is. I have already acknowledged the existence of that kind of God, and my attitude to that God is, indifference.
