ఉద్యోగిని నిద్ర.. కంపెనీ నష్టపోయింది

ఆఫీసులో బాస్‌ లేనప్పుడు, భోజనం చేశాక ఓ కునుకు తీస్తే ఎంత బాగుంటుంది కదా! అలా కొన్ని నిమిషాలు నిద్ర పోతే బానే ఉంటుంది కానీ ఓ ఉద్యోగిని మాత్రం ఏకంగా రోజుకు మూడు గంటలు నిద్రపోతుంది. ఆమె వల్ల ఆ కంపెనీ ఆదాయంలో 40,000 డాలర్లు అంటే అక్షరాల 27.4లక్షల రూపాయల నష్టం వాటిల్లింది. ఇదంతా కాలిఫోర్నియాలోని ఓ కంపెనీ ఉద్యోగిని నిర్వాకం. ఆడిట్ నివేదికలో ఈ విషయాలు వెల్లడయ్యాయి. గత నాలుగు సంవత్సరాలుగా ఆమె ప్రతిరోజు మూడు గంటల పాటు నిద్ర పోతుంది. ఈ విషయం తెలిసినా పై అధికారులు చివరికి మేనేజర్ కూడా ఆమె మీద చర్య తీసుకోలేదు. 2014 నుంచి ఆమె పనితీరు మదింపుకు సంబంధించి రికార్డులో కూడా ఈ నిద్ర గురించి ప్రస్తావన ఉన్నప్పటికీ ఆమె మీద క్షమశిక్షణా చర్యలు తీసుకోలేదు. ముందుగానే ఆమె మీద చర్య తీసుకొని ఉంటే ఆమె ప్రవర్తనను అదుపులో ఉంచే అవకాశం ఉండేదని అడిట్ అధికారులు తెలిపారు. మిగతా ఉద్యోగులతో పోల్చుకుంటే ఆమె పనితీరు సగానికి పడిపోయిందని సహోద్యోగి ఒకరు వెల్లడించారు. ఆమె ఈ నాలుగు సంవత్సరాల కాలంలో 2200 గంటలు నిద్రపోయిందని నివేదిక వెల్లడించింది. ఉద్యోగుల పనితీరు మెరుగుపరచడం కోసం కంపెనీ శిక్షణ ఇస్తోన్న సమయంలో ఈ విషయం వెలుగులోకి వచ్చింది.

A state Department of Motor Vehicles worker slept at least three hours a day on the job for nearly four years, slowing down processing times in an agency known for its long waits, a state audit said Tuesday.

According to the state auditor’s report, the DMV worker napped at her desk for an estimated 2,200 hours of work time between February 2014 and December 2017, costing the state more than $40,000. The employee’s name was not released.
