90 % DEAD INVESTMENT , Its not like in india where prices go up 100 % , 200 % , the reality market is all time high , there is no limit for the land here in this country , your money will be stuck.

Better invest in houses , rather than land

you can do it.

For ex: last feb (2018 feb) one of my friend bought a commerical zoned land for 700K, empty land in NC. his plan is to have Indian grocery, restaurant, meat shop and indoor sports complex to be built. waiting for bank loan for construction to begin.

To get loan for construction purpose, you need to show at least 50% of space pre booked by genuine  business people.

Bottom line.. yes you can invest in land...as long as you foresee there is a future, either by re selling land OR by developing it (building).

bhayya - Land or old house or new house - there is money in anything in US ...basically real estate is a great area anywhere -- There are thousands of people who lost their shirts and pants in the recession , but there are so many people who capitalized and bought assets and are doing good .

But the leraning curve is very very steep - So many things to know , so the only practical way to do this is to pick one particular niche - for ex : tax delinquent land investing - even though the concept might seem simple , its not easy to execute .

jack bosch has a pretty good course ( Again I can write a book on "are courses useful in real estate invetsing ") .mark podolsky also has a good course - google them and try to see what they r saying ....but i can say that - there are lot of people making money . You need - entrepreneurial mindset , understanding of finances , a lot of perseverance and ofcourse lil bit of startup capital
