Congress vows to ban RSS shakhas if voted to power in MP

The Congress party has vowed to ban 'RSS shakhas' inside government buildings or premises as one of the promises made in its election manifesto.

Ahead of the Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress party has vowed to ban "RSS shakhas" inside government buildings or premises as one of the promises made in its election manifesto.

Titled as "Vachan Patra", the manifesto, released on Saturday, states if the Congress party comes to power, the 'shakhas' of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) would not be allowed inside the government buildings and its premises.

 

RSS 'shakhas' refer to the office of the RSS workers for regular meetings, activities, and exercises.

Kamal Nath, campaign committee chairman Jyotiraditya Scindia, former CM Digvijay Singh, former Union minister Suresh Pachauri, leader of opposition Ajay Singh and former PCC president Arun Yadav all came together to launch the manifesto and address the media.

Justifying the banning of RSS 'shakhas', Congress leader Mayank Agarwal told India Today TV: "The RSS is not a social organisation. It's a part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and it always works for profit for its party. It spreads communalism."

The manifesto is divided into 50 sub categories and includes 973 points.

"We will reduce the electricity bill of farmers by 50 per cent, reduce diesel and petrol prices and open 'gaushalas' in every gram panchayat among other things mentioned in our election manifesto," ANI quoted MP Congress chief Kamal Nath as saying after the manifesto release.

The Congress has also promised to waive off farm loans at nationalised as well as state government cooperative banks and reduce electricity bills of farmers by 50 per cent. The party has further promised Rs 10,000 as unemployment allowance for one young member per family for a period of three years and Rs 51,000 at the time of a girl's marriage. Besides this, a provision for an amount of Rs 2.50 lakh for the construction of houses of landless people on a plot of 450 sq feet has also been mentioned in the manifesto. Reduction in fuel prices and cooking gas has also been promised.

The manifesto was prepared by a committee under the chairmanship of MP Deputy Speaker Rajendra Singh.

If they actually do this by declaring RSS as a terrorist organisation like SIMI, Rahul Gandhi may win atleast a couple election cycles. because RSS will change its name, and come back even stronger in 10yrs.

Cong forced to be soft on hindutva...they don't want another Modi to raise...that's a good thing...

Same should be happening in US...moderate Demguy embracing some of Trump's policies...such as Immig, not politically correct...

Its a good thing for Congi. because when the next murderous Modi rises, he won't attack Cong. He'll attack his actual opponents - the minority groups, communists (if they still exist), etc.

Congi is just trying to play both sides, with both sides hating it.

If they actually declare RSS as a terrorist org like SIMI, then Congi would have atoned for sins of its communal past, a little bit.

read up on how the Weimar republic (germany) in the early 20th century mollycoddled Nazis, by attacking communists more and more. Result - Hitler rose, Nazis won (by a very thin majority), and suspended the republic. They didn't go after social democratic govt that they defeated, but they went after the communists in germany. and killed them by the 1000s, before starting jewish concentration camps.

Hitler used the exact language nationalists today use to capture power.

corruption of the previous govt.. lack of growth, cultural nationalism, all of them. 

he still didn't get an overwhelming maj, but enough to just capture power and suspend the republic.

if anything, the republics (all over the world) should strengthen anti-nationalist forces more, so another hitler doesn't rise.

centrists will never defeat them. india lo left forces don't exist. what we have are regional parties, which is good enough for the time being.

Hindutva is a misnomer given by stupid indian media. Hindutva means always standing up for the right and for the down trodden. 

As many say that  what ISIS is doing in middle east is true form of Islam .. Infact prophet mohammed was poisoined and almost killed by a jewish woman for killing her father, husband, brother (standard practice for muslims in those days).. Yes I am taking of battle of Khaybar ...
