They assemble aircraft and other things, in fact, they get trained by other companies to assemble jets in India...

other than that spends billions of dollars in research and development which never saw the light of the day...

HAL....maintained and managed that Soviet era, by tech transfer from USSR and even after so many decades, cannot even manufacture proper spares for MIG-21..

DRDO....they do a bunch of projects and help defense...basically research and development arm of Indian defense...

so sad that after 70 years, we cannot even manufacture a proper assault rifle and we talk about assembling and manufacturing multi-role combat aircraft like Rafael...

HAL ( Aero)  , DRDO are seprate entries...DRDO works on tanks.. ammunition  radars... , Arjun tank BDL.....

Dude, as per the deal...Dassault aviation and Anil AMbani compani will be making spare parts and assembly...but not for rafael..!!!! not for Rafael plane but for other dassault projects.

Do you understand ? and as it is a classified project, the deal is secret. Not just Indian government but even |French Govt is also keeping the deal secret as it is sensitive by nature. Evado rahul gandhi gadu adigindu ani cheppi ace fighter jet technical specifications reveal cheyaru kada, it is speciallly being built for Indian air force, not any off the shelf thing.

Not just tanks but they the pretty much involved in most of the projects of Indian army....starting from material behaviour, ready to eat meals, climate gear, oridinance factories and ammunition, infact everything of Indian army..

yep...you have some good info, my friend a food process engineer works in DRDO...for unpershiable. foods project for military needs...+ climate disaster  food needs.

Do you think foxconn in andhra.. that is siri city is really developing iphones from scratch???   its just like beedi company.. where they assemble and test..... similarly Rilance wont get major work like its RAFALE ENGINE work... ofcourse some part of it but not all......  Just like apple never gives its core technology development to Infosys......  Infosys.. writes applications for back office applications.. like testing applications...  billing applications... payroll application, managment application.. Core iOS development is done at its HQ , but apple trust Isreal talent and they have iOS development in ISREAL.. but not any other country.. and so ... Rafale.

1. Dassault manufactures Rafael fighter jet. Apart from Rafael, Dassault also manufactures many products like helicopters, missiles, and lot more. 

2. Anil Ambani company entered to JV with Dassault but will not be working on Rafael project but some other which india is not interested at the moment. 

3. Dassault is a company, Rafael is a product and Anil Ambani has nothing to do with Rafael but Dassault.

Anil Ambani is not really working on Rafael...but at a later stage, this company may work on creating local infrastructure for Rafael like building of runways,maintenance and overhaul facilities which will be run by anik ambani but operated by dassaukt aviation to service these 36 planes.
