point is, the computer you type in, you were able to buy for, lets say $800 because of certain economic decisions a multitude of govts, and corporations made to make these things as cheap as possible. It didn't happen because of free market or by some magic.

the govts did this on the 'belief' that it will propel a stagnant economy forward. But has it? yes, it has for a while. And the govt has since invested similarly on many technologies like solar, nanotech, etc.. but not a single technology has been able to create the second wave of economic expansion that everyone is waiting for.

so does this make the modern economic system a pile of crap that people are sunk in to their nose, with no escape route? yes. Will people still follow it blindly even after all its prescriptions are wrong? yes.

no amount of reasoned education will help people escape this blind faith in the current economic system.

so we have found the perfect substitute for astrology now. We can even call ourselves rational while being imprisoned by its utter irrationality.
