THK, a Japanese major engaged in manufacture of linear motion guides and equipment for transport vehicles, has zeroed in on to Sri City in Andhra Pradesh for a manufacturing base, its first one in India.

THK plans to invest $ 200 million, with $ 50 million in the first phase in its plant in Sri City to cater to the growth of the industrial market in India. The manufacturing facility, spread across 50 acres will start construction by August 2018.

This MoU was signed by Akihiro Teramachi, President and CEO, THK and J Krishna Kishore, Chief Executive Officer, Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board in the presence of N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
