Inside Story: How Modi Tried To Divert AP Project To Gujarat

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has been a crucial global platform for the promotion of Andhra Pradesh as a favourable investment destination in India. When AP IT & Panchayat Raj Minister Nara Lokesh recently represented AP on behalf of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, a top businessman who has made investments globally gave Lokesh a piece of information that shocked him.

Apparently, the businessman was planning to visit India and Andhra Pradesh to finalise his company's investment in the state. After knowing about his visit to India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited him to Delhi for a meeting. During his meeting with the PM, the businessman was asked to invest in Gujarat. The Prime Minister, according to the businessman, had insisted several times during their meeting that Gujarat would be a favourable destination compared to AP and also spoke about the Bullet Train the Centre is planning from Ahmedabad.

However, the businessman had informed PM Modi that the company had already finalised an investment in Andhra Pradesh based on a case study conducted by their company. The company had done research on Telangana, Maharashtra and Gujarat but went ahead with AP after studying KIA's investment in the state and its efficiency in granting clearances.

That businessman met Lokesh at the World Economic Forum and during his meeting with the IT Minister, shared this experience. Additionally, the businessman also said that another reason for investing in AP is "Brand Chandrababu" which assures political stability and government's cooperation in conducting business and obtaining clearances smoothly within a given time-frame.

This piece of information made AP Delegation at WEF feel proud about the CM's efforts in developing the state and now has become a talk in political circles. If this is true, then Chandrababu's constant allegations about Modi trying to divert investments away from AP turns out to be true.

The yellow idiots think they are superior and they can do anything...

5000 crores is a meager investment...and especially for a PM, diverting a 5000 crore project to any other state is a cake walk thing.

Lokesh is after all an MLC/Minister in a state government headed by his dad...whereas Prime Minister....well, Let me leave it here.

we never know the truth on the above, but Bodi for sure is recommending and diverting every project to Gujarat.

What is the need for ONGC to provide a loan of 1500 Crores to the statue of unity?

Soon after KIA Motors' first made-in-Andhra car made its way out for a trial run with a record of one and a half year, a businessman said that Andhra Pradesh has been their choice, after having bad experiences and challenges in other states. Andhra Pradesh has been on top of its game in Ease of Doing Business and has been lauded for its efforts as a state in projecting itself as an emerging investment destination.

Tweeting his experience, Brij Bhasin who is a partner of Rebright, a Japanese Venture Capital Fund, said: "Our LP, a large Japanese manufacturer is setting up a 50 acre, 500 employee facility in Sri City, AP. Me: Why not KA( Karnataka)? State officials were rude & unhelpful. TN? Officials asked for a lot of bribes... Thank heavens at least there is new AP!."

Praising Andhra Pradesh Government's approach towards investors and investments, he said: "Best thing they like about #NewAP in order of pref- State initiated 10K subsidy per employee to train them at HQ facilities in Japan, Handling local relations with farmers to smooth over transition, Clarity on tax, inputs like electricity, water."

Not stopping at that, Brij tweeted his company's biggest worries in investing in the state, ahead of the upcoming elections "Biggest worries - Political uncertainty and policy continuity post-General election, Tax regime clarity and local customer stability, Friendly environment and quality of life for HQ staff living in India."

Following his tweets, several social media followers welcomed the Japanese company to the state and were in praise of Brij for stating facts. Interestingly, one of the social media followers had asked if "Telangana was considered" to which Brij replied saying it was on the list of their discussed locations.

State run companies and public companies donated about 400-500 crores.

All the PSU’s have to spend 2% of the profits on CSR. Not just PSU’s but all the companies established in SEZ’s have to allocate 2% of the profits to corporate and social responsibility and such details needs to be shared with concerned authorities. Most of you all might not know but even outsourcing companies like TCS,Infy etc also have spend 2% of their profits to CSR activities.

You might have seen companies sponsoring schools, water facilities, etc for the society. These activists are also part of the mandatory 2%. Anthe kani humanity mida prema toh kadu.

Alanto fund nundi statue of unity ki fund chesinaru...
